Things have changed since the introduction of Bank Genie 3
1.Downloading and installing programs
Since the release of Bank Genie 3 in August 07, the default installation folder for programs with version dates indicating August 07 and later is:
c:\program files\Bank Genie 3
Note the 3 !!
If
you are downloading, and you have a previous version of Bank Genie, then you must change this to the correct folder for your installation.
Previously, (Version 1 and Version 2) the default installation folder was:
c:\program files\Bank Genie
2. Downloading and installing File sets.
Since the release of Bank Genie 3 in August 07, Programs and Data files are now
located in separate folders.
Bank Genie 3 users:
The About Bank Genie program BS200 in Bank Genie 3 clearly indicates the location of your data folders. Please start this program and note the location
of your CORE data files.
We recommend you click the Print button and keep a hard copy of this important information.
Refer to the folder locations when downloading.

Currently, no updates to File sets are required
Bank Genie 1 and Bank Genie 2 users:
Things were simple in the old days!
The default location for your data files is the same as your program files:
c:\program files\Bank Genie
Heres some notes to help you understand these change.
Downloading and installing updates
During the installation of a Program Update, a dialog box will appear showing the default installation folder.
This screen has a Change button.
If the default installation folder is correct, simply continue.
If the default installation folder is incorrect, then click on the Change button, then browse your computer
and select the folder containing your Bank Genie programs.
Once changed, continue with the installation.
You are actually replacing an existing file with another file.
Thus, in ALL events, you
should get a message informing you that the program already exists, and asking you for permission to overwrite the program.
If you have changed the installation folder in the dialog box described above, and DONT
get this message, then double check that you have selected the correct folder.
