Now to introduce you to one of the the most important features in using specimens with Ideas Genie Pro - Events.
There are two types of events
- Automatically created events
- Manually created Events
Automatically created Events Ideas Genie does another important action behind the scenes each time you click
the Done on button in the Status screen of the tasks program - an event is automatically created.
Lets look at one of the events created in our examples in the previous lesson
By updating the task in the previous session, Ideas Genie Pro has already created an event for you, for each item marked as “Completed” of done.
- Start the program Tasks - GA047
- Since your task is finished, remember to click All or Finished Only so that the task can be listed
- Select your finished task
- Click the Status button
Screen GA047S07 appears Screenshot 1e-ga047s07
- Screen GA100S23 appears, showing the Event record created as a result of finishing this task
Screenshot 2e-ga100s23 Note that Ideas Genie recorded the event as Sowed This description comes from the Done Description for this care item as entered in GA011S01 Screenshot 1-ga011s01

Manually created Events The majority of events in the life of a specimen are recorded manually.
To manually record events you must create Plant Care Classifications as shown in this Screenshot.
Here we will demonstrate how to record the Germination date for our sowings
You can add or edit specimens and create events manually using any of programs which allow you
to access the Plant Profile screen. In this session we will use GA029
- Start the program Specimens GA029
- In the initial screen GA029S01
